ICAD 2019 An Art Challenge Based On Prompts

What is ICAD? ICAD stands for Index Card A Day. It is an art challenge that Tammy Garcia from Daisy Yellow Art founded in 2011. She creates prompts for those participating in the art challenge where we art onto index cards every day during the months of June and July. Yep 61 days of small pieces of art. This year I did something slightly different. Instead of following Tammy’s prompts I winged it and followed my own mixed media groove. So much for the prompts “¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

Can you tell that I had a blast? I found that doing art daily was incredibly inspiring and gave me time to really experiment and investigate. Plus, the bonus was it really forced me to create a daily arting habit. Fine tuning my process.

I will be doing ICAD again next year. It has me so jazzed up and excited to try some of the new discoveries I found in some bigger pieces.
